I need to record video, because its a fast, comprehensive and popular way to post information and to raise my profile.

I’m comfy in front of the screen as I’ve done a bit of live tv, but I’m not techno savvy. So, when a certain Ms Burgess offered to help, I jumped at the chance.

I’ve since learned a lot and love Zoom, a fast and efficient way to create a video that easily saves itself as an MP4 – a format YouTube friendly.

So, I’m ready and set to create blog after blog.

(Now I just need to make the time, consistently to do so…. But that’s not a matter for AC, but for me to sort out.)

I have published [my books before] and found the cost listed here is in the area it cost me. But I got NO help with marketing. UNLESS I paid significantly more. And countless phone calls were made to me to talk me into more packages for the marketing at $5,000 or more. It is a relief to work with a company that states their prices and will include marketing. I do not feel like I am alone on a raft on the ocean. With Author’s Community, I now have a rudder and fellow sailors.

Honestly, writing is my passion and always has been. My brother also writes and he is the one who introduced me to this community. I’m looking to make connections and to seek guidance in the writing, editing, and publishing process. The path to being a full-time writer is not an easy one, I know. I’m thankful communities like this exist so we can help each other.

I’m a retired Associate in Ministry, a former youth leader, and have a background in early elementary education. I am a Christian Children’s author. In 2006 God called me to be a writer for children. This has been an exciting journey. Now my goal here is to learn more about social media to be able to share my books with more people.

I have been a member here for a while but have never posted anything that I can remember.  I like this place.  I told my sister about it and I saw where she introduced herself a while back.  This is a secret gem in the writing world but it doesn’t need to be.

I am very grateful to Tom Blubaugh and Gina Burgess of Authors Community for their help with the fantasy novel, The Seventh Tree, which I have been writing, on and off, for about twenty years. I had not written a novel before, so I did not know how to write it.

Tom has introduced me to the world of marketing, an area that I had not considered before, target audiences, a target book, influencers, landing pages, etc.   He suggested that I write interviews with my main characters, two of which I have completed, and he is helping me to develop a website to provide news of the novel and the processes of writing it.

Gina has read the two-character interviews that I have written, making insightful, helpful and brilliant suggestions, to improve them.   As these interviews will form a part of the body of the novel, she has improved The Seventh Tree significantly already.   Once I have completed ten chapters, she will read, analyse and edit them.

I just found out about this site. So far, I love it. It’s a lot like the one I used to belong to called Authors by Design. I was one of the moderators on a private critique group. I loved it but it got too busy and I had to quit. But I miss all our members.

I am an indie author of a non-fiction book primarily for women titled Mission Possible.  So glad to be part of this well planned authors community. I have known (through another online group) Gina and Tom for awhile now. They are top notch individuals that take their writing and mentoring others very seriously.

I hate the blah blah blah approach to marketing. You seem to be diving into the real waters of writing; what I experience. Don’t lose site of the need to stay anchored in the deep, stormy, waters.

I just wanted to thank Pam for the editing work she did for me with my debut book, “Times of Trouble Bring Rays of Joy.” She was professional and hard-working. She alerted me to a change we had to make that, had I not been aware of it and left it undone, could have caused me major issues. I am thankful that she took me on as a client. She was timely in her delivery of the edited manuscript.
