Social Media includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and many others. People often ask how often they should post. It’s really up to your market. It is hard to know exactly how many, but it should be a number you are comfortable with and that your viewers won’t feel like you are bombarding them. You don’t want to get a bad reputation in the social media world. I suggest you start conservatively with even fewer than this recommendation. Remember, consistency is better than quantity at this point. It’s better to start small and then grow. I don’t make any recommendations for this company, but the graphic is a pretty standard approach as to how often to post to each media.
Having a Social Media Plan is key to it being a successful tool for your business. Focusing on a plan will help you know what you have told your followers and where you might lead them next. It’s important to have a plan so you don’t repeat yourself and then loose their interest. The worst thing that could happen is that you post items that are of no value to your following. Again I don’t suggest this company, but here is a standard plan for posting to Social Media.
A Social Media Plan is simply planning out your posts. I recently created a yearly plan for my Social Media involvement by choosing a specific topic to focus on each month of the year. Then, I created and researched for helpful tips on that topic that would help my clients. Next, I created each post and made a schedule of the days I will post them. Some social media platforms allow you to schedule your posts in advance (Facebook and Twitter). If not, there are online services available FOR FREE that you can use to schedule your posts to multiple accounts like LinkedIn and Google+.
Again I don’t suggest this company, but here is a standard plan for posting to Social Media.
